Eliminating Food Waste:
In addressing the issue of fresh fruit and vegetable waste, the production of natural dried fruit snacks extends shelf life up to one year, contributing significantly to the reduction of post-harvest waste.
Our commitment extends to the production process, with over 1000 employees in our supplier factories in Ghana and Ivory Coast involved in sustainably processing and packaging our products.
Renewable Energy:
We harness renewable energy through a solar plant, utilising the abundant African sun to produce a quarter of our total energy load.
Further innovative approaches involve converting fruit waste into biogas for carbon-neutral electricity and utilising coconut shells and mango stones for heating ovens, reducing waste volume and generating heat energy for the dried fruit factory.
Wastewater Treatment:
Recognising the importance of water conservation, our supplier’s factories invest in rainwater dams to address water shortages in West Africa. Rainwater collected is treated in a wastewater treatment plant and used in the factory, with a commitment to returning all water to the earth cleaned and filtered. Additionally, composting sites transform fruit waste into organic fertiliser, promoting soil quality and contributing to richer harvests.
In essence, sustainability initiatives not only mitigate waste, but also embrace renewable energy sources, water conservation, and soil enrichment, aligning perfectly with our dedication to a fairer, more equal, and sustainable world.
